Summertime Reading Kindle Books June 2015

Summer is here!  The children are out of school and it’s time for lazy days in the sun!  We’ve put together a list of our favorite books for whiling away the hours under the umbrella while the children splash in the pool.  Grab a tall glass of iced tea, your favorite snack and your Kindle, and check out these Best Kindle books for June…and don’t forget the sunscreen!

Kindle Paperwhite: How to use Dictionary and Translating Text

This is the third installment in our Kindle Paperwhite How-to series.  Here, we will discuss utilizing the built-in dictionary and text-translation features that some standard with your device.

To use the “dictionary” feature, press and hold the word in question, then quickly release.  The definition will pop up at the bottom of the screen.  There are also “x-ray” and “Wikipedia” features available.  To see these, simply tap the appropriate tab.  To close the dictionary window, tap the screen anywhere outside the window and it will disappear.

Kindle Paperwhite Newbie: How to Transfer Kindle Books from a Computer

Welcome back to our Kindle Video Series!  Today, in our fourth installment, we’ll discuss how to transfer books from a computer to your Kindle.  If you would like to follow along on the video, you can do so here.

For books that you have already purchased…

If you have already purchased a book on Amazon, and would like to transfer it to your Kindle, the first step is to visit the “Manage my Content and Devices” page at www.amazon.com/mycd.  Locate the title that you are looking for and click on the “Actions” button.  Choose the device that you want to send the book to, then click “Deliver”.  Your book/magazine/newspaper will automatically download the next time you open your Kindle (note–you must have access to WiFi or 3G for your Kindle to download new titles).

How to read and access Books on Kindle Paperwhite

Welcome back to our Amazon Kindle Video Series: How to read books. We hope that you are finding our series helpful as you learn to navigate your new device.  In this, our tenth installment, we’ll be talking about reading books on your Kindle. 

Where are my books on Paperwhite?

Amazon stores your Kindle library securely in the Cloud.  To download it to your device, tap the “Cloud” tab to display your library.  Find the title that you want to download and tap it.  Note–your device must be connected to a WiFi connection or have 3G capability to download items.  Now tap the “On Device” tab to make sure that your content has downloaded to your Kindle.  If it has not appeared, try syncing your device, which should solve the problem.
